Loss, Grief, Mourning and Complicated Grief Workshop
On Wednesday, May 30, from Noon to 1 pm at The Academy of Clinical and Applied Psychoanalysis located at 301 S. Livingston Avenue in Livingston, a workshop on Loss, Grief, Mourning and Complicated Grief will be offered.
It is estimated that as many as one in three bereavements result in "morbid outcome or pathological patterns of grief." In this type of complicated grief, painful emotions are so long lasting and severe that people have trouble accepting the loss and resuming their lives. This workshop will examine the underlying factors in both normal and maladaptive grief. This workshop will be helpful to anyone coping with or working with individuals coping with loss or overwhelming experiences and help them design effective, coping interventions.
The workshop will be presented by Mary Robinson, MA, CT, Executive Director of Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss located in Mountainside, NJ. Professionals and anyone from the community are Invited! CEUs are available for many professions for a fee of $15.
